Ensemble Dutala
Is Australia’s first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander chamber ensemble. Currently consisting of 9 professional ATSI musicians from Perth, Sydney, Moree, Mildura and Melbourne. Ensemble Dutala is Short Black Opera’s exciting new project that came from the One Day In January project. Meetings between artists are held online and in Melbourne in the days leading up to January 26th.
Led by conductor and violist Aaron Wyatt (Noongar), Ensemble Dutala will become a beacon to young ATSI musicians who are searching for a pathway which will lead them to a career as a classical musician.
